Longitude and Latitude
Creating compositions of topical events creating landscapes of tumultuous historical events at the intersection of memory and geography.
"Longitude and Latitude" explores the geographic and mnemonic landscapes of historical and social events. The process employs researching both recognized and marginalized occurrences to create compositions that summarize complex information to a scale that is more intimate and nuanced than the accounts we are usually exposed to. So rather than relying on realistic representations of people or places, this project is about establishing a narrative of impressions that encapsulate a specific moment in time.
